Clean Air Vs the EPA & COVID-19

The EPA has gone too far with its abandonment of enforcing clean energy. Recently the Trump Administration and the EPA have finalized its policies to stop oversight into industrial pollution. This means large scale industries will have a free pass to pollute. In a time of multiple global crisis’s the EPA and the White House have chosen to make our lives harder by rewarding fossil fuel polluters.

We have the technology to transition to a 100% clean energy economy but we don’t have the federal leadership. We have vast improvements to renewable energy and can eliminate fossil fuels from our power grid but we wont under EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler. We need to go electric for all cars, trucks, buses, and public transit. We have the ability to have a 100% clean power grid from wind, solar, tidal, and geothermal but we wont with fossil fuel lobbyists running the Environmental Protection Agency. Investing in electric school buses, transit buses and trucks can clean our air and end our dependence on foreign oil.

Poor air quality can present a risk even to those who are active, young and otherwise healthy. People who are recovering from COVID-19 are encouraged to limit outdoor activity, keep cool and follow their doctor’s recommendations. The EPA’s rollbacks makes it harder for all Americans but especially for those who are hurting from the Coronavirus. We need to start looking at pollution as the enemy and start looking at electric vehicles as tools to combat climate change and the Coronavirus
